18 septembre National Singles weekThe Americans are really good at inventing festivals, here is one that I realised today: National Singles week, which lasts from 14-19 Sep this year. It is all about "discovering the joy of being single".
Just wondering if there is something like "National couples week" also?
Why the Americans have to care for a week to teach the Singles to be happy when there are about 95 millions Amercians, translating to 43 per cent of the population are flying solo?
It's as weird as setting a Daughters Week to render how to be respectful to the parents or setting a Grandpas Week to talk about staying young.
The underlying belief of the founder must be: all the singles are unhappy or suffering from solitude. But I don't really think in that way.
5 good things to go single:
1. Get more control of my free time. (Don't have to waste my time on boring ball games)
2. Don't have to watch my figure all the time.
3. Spend as much as I can. (Don't have to hide all the shopping bags)
4. Go home as late as I want.
5. Can hit on anyone without feeling guilty.
... and so on
Nevertheless, many celebrities prefer to staying singles:
George Clooney, the 45-year-old Oscar winner vowed the only one role he will never reprise is that of a husband. After his four-year marriage end up in a disaster, he is cut out for long-term commitment until he confessed to media that he has been in a serious relationship for 15 years with his pot-bellied pig name Max.
Charlize Theron, the 30-year-old Academy best actress said she will not get married until the US government grants gay and lesbian couples the right to wed as well. Actually, she has a boy friend, Stuart Townsend, also a actor, and want to have family someday. Only she tired of media continuous speculations over when will they tie the knot.
Oprah Winfrey, may be the most successful TV show host in the world, said marrying her boyfriend will jeopardise the relationship.
9 septembre Any theory? There is a psycological game: How many pair(s) of shoes you would bring along if you have to travel across a desert?

The no. you give would be the number of boyfriends/grilfriends you met before you get marry.
A friend of mine is going to get marry. She's getting a little bit regretful about not having enough boy friends before marrying her frist love. Doubts unsettling if he is the right person to be the lifelong companion.
I've yet to test her with the game. Neither do I believe that there would be a game or checklist to tell us who is the one.
"Love, true love has nothing to do with the object." An abstract from <The art of love>. Love is all about how we love but not who we love.
It's really music to my ears......cuz my answer is three!
